Tate Zawadiuk - Performer, Tate Zawadiuk a legend in the making!

Tate Zawadiuk
Tate’s passion for playing the cello began at the age
of three. Over the past ten years he has participated in numerous solo
concerts, master classes, competitions, festivals, summer camps, orchestras and
chamber ensembles. He has won many awards and scholarships. Tate won the 2010 Burnaby Clef concerto
competition for musicians aged 12 to 23 from all orchestral musical disciplines
and performed with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. He was also awarded the
John Parker Memorial Scholarship for having the highest mark in the
competition. Tate was selected to play at Mr. Parisot’s masterclass at the
Cellofest held in Vancouver in June 2010.
He was the youngest participant to be accepted into the Morningside
Music Bridge Program last year and played at the Mount Royal University 2010
Feast concert. He studies with Mr. John
Kadz at the Conservatory at MRU. Most recently, he has been invited to play as
a soloist for a series of educational concerts with the Vancouver Symphony
Orchestra. Tate is a French emersion
student in Vancouver. He is an enthusiastic golfer, baseball player and skier.
He also enjoys acting and public speaking. Tate’s love for playing the cello
resonates with every note.
