Yan immigrated to Canada in 2007 with her parents from China.
In September, 2008 she joined the Academy program for gifted youth at the Mount Royal University Conservatory.
She was a featured performer for the Conservatory’s annual Gala fundraiser.
She is studying with William VanderSloot.
